Mediterranean Luxury
This Charleston interior design project tells a family's story that dates back to the late 1600s. Our clients' roots in Charleston, including a descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, became the focal point of Debby's design vision for this stately estate, just steps from the Intracoastal waterway. History and a passion for Italy and the Mediterranean unfold throughout our clients' design story.
Family history resonates in every corner of the home, with tributes to the Old World design and styles that Charleston still celebrates today. To honor our clients' vision, we commissioned artisans to create handmade copper sculptures and a magnificent custom wine table, each piece depicting the stories of our clients' travels through Italian Tuscany and New Orleans. Stylized iron details throughout the interiors and poolside off the veranda add another layer of richness to the design.
An art gallery was created in the main living area, featuring a broad range of commissioned artists, both locally and regionally, to further celebrate our clients' love of Tuscany, the Mediterranean, and Charleston.
Family heirloom antiques mix with modern upholstery and furnishings for comfortable, elevated living. A stunning antique dining table from the 1800s, passed down through generations, anchors the space. Its massive claw feet remain a showstopper, and we reconfigured the tabletop with a custom copper and bronze inlaid design, perfect for festive wine dinners at home.
